Welcome to Sri Lanka's Endangered, a social-impact project operated in Sri Lanka through the sole proprietorship “The Enterprise.” It is part of a larger initiative by The Playn to spark local conservation action through education, storytelling, community involvement, and socially responsible brands.

We’ve set ourselves a rather modest goal: to look after the world, one small, endangered species at a time, starting right here on this remarkable island. Now, before you start thinking that we’ve gone entirely bonkers, let’s take a deep breath and dive into why we’re here and why you’re here too.

You see, when it comes to climate change, sustainability, and the plight of endangered species, most of us are familiar with the headlines. We’ve all heard the worrying reports of polar ice caps melting, rainforests disappearing, and species slipping off the face of the Earth faster than we can say "bio-diversity." But here’s the thing: while these problems seem vast and distant, they’re not someone else’s responsibility. They’re ours. Yes, even yours.

At Sri Lanka's Endangered, we believe that everyone, from seasoned wildlife experts to those of us who are just figuring out how to recycle properly (or those of us who feel bad that we haven't even got there yet)—can play a part in turning things around. And the best bit? You don’t need a PhD in conservation or a superhero cape to make a difference (though, if you have either, good for you).

What we want to do

Our goal is quite simple: we want to help you along your journey towards protecting Sri Lanka’s endangered species and preserving our planet. We believe that, with a little nudge in the right direction, everyone can take meaningful steps toward sustainability. And while we’re at it, we hope to remind you that, much like a good cup of tea, saving the planet is best done together.

It all starts with awareness. Let’s be honest, most of us couldn’t name more than a handful of Sri Lanka’s endangered species. We might know about the Sri Lankan leopard (thanks, wildlife documentaries!), but what about the other incredible creatures that call this island home? Did you know the Pangolin is under threat? Or that the Purple-faced Langur is struggling to hang on?

But here’s the thing: once you start learning about these animals, you’ll care about them. And once you care, you’ll want to help.

Trust us, it’s a slippery slope.

So, how Do We Do it?

At Sri Lanka’s Endangered, we’re all about giving you the tools, information, and inspiration you need to get started. We’re not asking you to quit your day job, sell all your worldly possessions, and live in a tree (though, if you’re into that, no judgment). We’re simply here to help you take the first step.

Whether it's
learning about:

We’ve made it easy for you to start small and think big. The more you know, the more you’ll care, and before you know it, you’ll be part of a growing community of people who are making a real difference... right here in Sri Lanka.

Playn BG (9).png

Why Bother?

Now, we get it: life is busy. There are bills to pay, jobs to do, and traffic to sit in. But here’s a little secret: when you start to care about something bigger than yourself, something wonderful happens. You feel more connected, more purposeful, and, dare we say, happier. It turns out that doing good really does feel good.

Think of it this way: by protecting Sri Lanka’s endangered species and doing your part for the planet, you’re not just helping to save the animals—you’re also helping to save the best version of yourself. You’ll meet like-minded people, share stories, and feel proud of the steps you’re taking. You’ll even start to notice that those small steps lead to bigger changes, for you and for the world around you.

Endange BG (5).png

So, whether you're a nature enthusiast, a busy professional, or just someone who’s curious about how they can make a difference, we invite you to take that first step with us. Learn about the animals on the brink of extinction, discover what you can do to help and start conversations.

We’re all in this together. And while we may not have all the answers (we’re learning, too), we do know one thing for certain: together, we can make a difference.

Let’s get started. It’s easier than you think, and far more rewarding than you can imagine. Sri Lanka’s Endangered: Saving species, one small step at a time... yours.

We believe that by coming together, we can create a future where endangered species are cared for, where ecosystems are protected, and where every individual can make a difference in the world.

Our Mission
The Playns Unity Icon. Uniting everyone with a single goal.png

Our Unity Icon

The Unity Icon begins with you. Imagine yourself as a triangle... your corners holding your dreams, your skills, and even your quirks. These make you unlike anyone else. At the center of that triangle lies a dot: your conscience. It’s the quiet voice that whispers care, the reminder that you are part of something bigger.

On our own, our triangles point in different directions. We care about different things, and our energy scatters. That’s why the challenges of our time often feel overwhelming... too big for any one person to solve. But when one corner of each life turns toward the same purpose... to care for our planet and the life we share... something extraordinary happens. Scattered sparks align. Small actions connect. And what once felt impossible begins to shift.

This is how forests regrow, oceans heal, species find refuge, and communities begin to thrive again. The Unity Icon reminds us that we don’t change the world by being perfect. We change it by pointing part of who we are in the same direction... together. And here’s the truth: you are already part of this movement, because your conscience already knows where to point.
